Aureo Ramírez, born in 1999 in San Francisco del Rincon, Mexico, is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Leon, Mexico. Primarily working in drawing and painting, he mostly employs graphite on paper, watercolors, and digital painting techniques. He is best known for his surrealist practice, utilizing the human form to depict otherworldly figures within ethereal landscapes. His artistic endeavors often draw inspiration from old master paintings, tenebrism, and Buddhism resulting in a unique fusion of classical techniques with contemporary surrealism.
His artistic exploration is deeply entangled with the subconscious mind and human emotions, with a particular focus on representing the experiences of the inner self during cathartic moments in our lives. His work delves into the depths of the psyche, aiming to evoke a state of introspection and contemplation in the viewer. Notable among his projects is the "El Eterno Presente" series from 2022, which marked a significant breakthrough for the artist.
